Are you a newbie to understanding and feeling energy?

Is there an invisible pull that moves you to discover more, but you don’t seem to have found a practice that lights you up?

I’ve certainly seen a growing acceptance that everything is energy, and more people than ever want to learn how to meditate and be more mindful but they just don’t know where to start..

So how do you know what’s the next right step for you? There are so many practices to choose from that it can be overwhelming.

Plus, there are also potential pitfalls that can leave you feeling disheartened and like you’re not getting anywhere.

Personally it took me five years to feel good in my meditation practice. And trust me, I tried lots of different modalities!

To help you out, I’ve put together my top tips for finding the right practice for you.

Firstly, don’t go for things that feel alien and too far fetched. This is a sign you’ve strayed too far in the wrong direction.

Do set your expectations aside. Learning something new takes time so don’t expect to master a new practice quickly. Plus, expectations are a sure fire way to kill any joy you may have found in what you are doing.

Do embrace your natural curiosity. Try things that tweak your interest because there’s a reason why something tickles your fancy.

Do commit!

Try that one practice whole-heartedly and with an open mind at least three times. And if that doesn’t float your boat, move on.

Do be aware of your own judgement. It takes practice and if your mind wanders off or you are frustrated that you “can’t do it” gently return to where you were without judgement.

Do understand that every practice will evolve over time and no two sessions are ever the same. Also some days are just harder than others, even for seasoned meditators.

Lastly. Do enjoy the process of discovery.

You are evolving. We all are. If something inside of you wants to keep turning up and is yearning for more presence and peace, follow your heart, start with that practice, and enjoy the ride.

Much love,
